Wales & West Utilities is reporting good progress with its gas pipe upgrade scheme in Bath’s Warminster Road area.
The £268,000 investment work, which began earlier in the month, is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in the area so that people are safe and warm for generations to come.
The work involves upgrading over 2km of gas pipe and, barring any engineering difficulties, it will complete by the end of March. To keep the local community, road users and Wales & West Utilities engineers safe whilst work is ongoing rolling two-way traffic lights will be in place along Warminster Road. It has also been agreed with Bath and North East Somerset Council and Highways England that three-way traffic lights will be in place on Warminster Road from 27 - 31 January and from 17 – 28 February.

We’ve planned some of the work to take place during half term to reduce impact to local people and we’ll have a team of gas engineers on site throughout the project to make sure our work is completed as safely and as quickly as possible.”
This work will not only keep the gas flowing safely and reliably today, it will also help make sure the gas network is fit for the future and can play its part in delivering reliable and affordable green energy.
