Wales & West Utilities is progressing well with its work to upgrade gas pipes in Yeovil.
The work, in the Dorchester Road area of the town, involves upgrading the gas network to help keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to local homes and businesses, keeping people warm for generations to come.
The project follows work which has been completed in the Ilchester Road area and involves upgrading over 1,800 metres of gas pipes. As part of this section of work the following traffic management will be in place:
- Two-way traffic lights will be in place on Dorchester Road, whilst a road closure will be in place on East Coker Road and no access will be permitted onto Dorchester Road (2 – 28 April)
Wales & West Utilities Roxanne Whittaker is managing this gas pipe upgrade work and said:
The work in Yeovil is progressing well. We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future. We’ll have a team of gas engineers on site throughout the project to make sure our work is completed as safely and as quickly as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum.
