Wales & West Utilities Shaun Lawrence and Blake Carter at the finished roadworks on Windsor Bridge Road, Bath.

Wales & West Utilities has completed emergency gas pipe repair work in the Windsor Bridge Road area of Bath.

The work, which started on 19 November, was essential to permanently repair a pipe that was damaged by third party contractors, and keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to local homes and businesses.

To complete the essential work as safely and as quickly as possible, engineers have been working 10-hour days and during the weekends.

We’re delighted to have finished this essential work and want to thank everyone who lives, works and travels in the Windsor Bridge Road area for bearing with us.

We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really was essential. While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Bath. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it – now more than ever.

Shaun Lawrence, Wales & West Utilities Project Manager

We want to echo the thanks to residents and businesses who faced disruption while the work was carried out and to the team who have worked long hours on site, under Covid-safe conditions, to get the pipe fixed.
