Wales & West Utilities has joined forces with Somerset Council to donate gifts which will be delivered to vulnerable children and their families this Christmas.

Colleagues from the gas emergency and pipeline service have rallied to purchase and donate presents which have been delivered to Somerset Council’s Children’s Services and will be shared among children in the lead up to the festive season, bringing festive cheer to families and young people who are most in need.

Nicole Wright, Priority Customer Assistant from Wales & West Utilities, helped organise the appeal and said:

We know how important appeals of this nature are and we are delighted to lend a helping hand.

Our colleagues have got behind similar appeals in areas across our region and this is the first year we have helped to support children in Somerset. We’re delighted that these gifts will go some way to benefit children and help them to experience the joy a little gift can bring.

The children’s services team is doing a fantastic job in supporting vulnerable children and their families and we hope our contribution makes even the smallest difference to children across Somerset.

Councillor Tessa Munt, Executive Lead for Children, Families and Education at Somerset Council, said:

We are grateful to Wales & West Utilities for choosing to help the young people of Somerset this year. Our Children’s Services team can support this great cause by delivering these generous gifts to vulnerable families across the county and help spread some joy this holiday season.
