Wales & West Utilities has completed a gas pipe investment scheme in the Old St Clears Road area of Carmarthen on time.
The work, which started on the 18 June, took eleven weeks to complete and now that it’s finished local homes and businesses can expect to continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
Ahead of the scheme Wales & West Utilities worked closely with Carmarthen County Council to plan the work and associated traffic management.
Wales & West Utilities Programme Controller Francis Kirk managed the work and said:
“We are delighted to have finished our essential work in a timely fashion and would like to thank those people that live and travel through the area for their patience whilst it was ongoing.
“The work was planned so that the bulk of the scheme was carried out during the school holidays to minimise the impact and inconvenience to local people.
“Working in areas like this is never easy but it was essential to keep the gas flowing to heat and power businesses in the area and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.”
