Wales & West Utilities is a long-time supporter of Cardiff Council’s present appeal to help vulnerable children and their families, and this year is no different.
The gas emergency and pipeline service, which has backed the appeal for seven years, is doing so, once again, by way of helping to spread a little festive cheer to vulnerable children across the city. This year colleagues from across the business have rallied to back the appeal, run by the Council’s Intervention Hub Family Support Services Team, and will hand over a record number of gifts which, in turn, will be passed to young children and their families over the Christmas period.
Colleagues have got behind the cause and are delighted to help make a difference to families who would usually see Christmas pass them by. The children supported through the present appeal are from families in need for a variety of reasons and would be unlikely to have any presents for Christmas this year.
Nicole Wright, Priority Customer Assistant from Wales & West Utilities, helped organise the appeal and said:
We know how important this appeal is and we are delighted to, once again, lend a helping hand.
Every year our colleagues get behind the drive and this year we hope that more children, who would usually see Christmas pass them by, will get to experience the joy a little gift can bring.
The support services team is doing a fantastic job in supporting vulnerable children and their families and we hope our contribution makes even the smallest difference to children across Cardiff.
Susan Davies, Family Support Worker for Cardiff Children’s Services, said:
I am absolutely thrilled to have this support for our vulnerable families. Wales & West Utilities has been a long-standing supporter of this annual appeal and I know, first-hand, just how much these gifts will be appreciated.
The parents can now breathe a sigh of relief that they don’t have to worry about putting a smile on their children’s faces this year. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who bought a gift for a child in need.
