Kind-hearted colleagues from Wales & West Utilities have rallied to answer an appeal to help spread Christmas joy to vulnerable children across Cardiff.
Staff from the gas emergency and pipeline service have spent the past month collecting gifts which will now be distributed to youngsters and their families across the city.
This is the fourth year that Wales & West Utilities has supported Cardiff City Council’s social services team with their Christmas Appeal. Colleagues have got behind the cause and are delighted to help spread some festive cheer to families who would usually see Christmas pass them by.
We know how hard this year has been for people across the UK, and this has been felt more so by vulnerable families. This is our way of helping and we are delighted to play a small part and support the Council’s appeal.
The generosity shown by our colleagues has been overwhelming, and we hope that these gifts will bring a smile to children across Cardiff on Christmas Day.
The children supported through the present appeal are from families in need for a variety of reasons and would be unlikely to have any presents for Christmas this year.
The support to the Christmas Present Appeal is part of Wales & West Utilities commitment to giving something back to the communities it works in.
I have been overwhelmed by the support from Wales & West Utilities over the years and each year more gifts are provided for our families. This has been such a tough year, especially for those suffering with mental health.
The donations from Wales and West Utilities will bring a smile and sigh of relief to parents, knowing their children will get something for Christmas, when they struggle to get by. Thank you all so much. I’m excited for next year!
This is such an important appeal and goes a long way to helping all the children out there who are not as fortunate as others.
I am pleased to do a little bit and hope that by buying a gift or two, I can help make Christmas Day a little happier for children across the city.
