Wales & West Utilities is working to upgrade the gas pipes in the Ty’n-Y-Groes area of Conwy.
The work is essential to keep the gas flowing safely to heat and power local homes and businesses for years to come. To plan the work, the gas emergency and pipeline service has liaised with Conwy County Borough Council, and it has been agreed that Tal-y-Cafn to Ty’n-Y-Groes Road will be closed to traffic between 4 – 29 December. Access will be maintained for residents, and a local diversion route will be clearly signposted.
Wales & West Utilities Adam Smith is managing this gas pipe upgrade work and said:
We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.
This work is essential to upgrade part of the gas network in Conwy and we are working as quickly and as safely as possible to complete it, whilst keeping disruption to a minimum.
While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Conwy. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
