Wales & West Utilities has been recognised in the 2025 IGEM Gas Industry Awards for the financial wellbeing support provided to colleagues. The gas emergency and pipeline service for Wales and south west England was announced the winner of the award for ‘Investment in People’ - innovating in financial benefits and wellbeing for the workforce at the ceremony held in the Intercontinental Hotel on Thursday (08 May).  

In winning the award, Wales & West Utilities were praised for launching a Financial Wellbeing Initiative in response to colleague feedback by designing an approach that recognises one size does not fit all and enhances colleague autonomy over financial benefits based on individual priorities.   

Wales & West Utilities were also shortlisted in three categories at the awards:

  • Large Company of the Year Award (Over 250 Employees)  
  • Customer Service award
  • Engineer of the Year Award
