Wales & West Utilities is holding a further drop-in event for the local community to find out more about its major gas main upgrade works, which are currently ongoing in Taunton. Work on the project in the West of Taunton started in March and involves working in the Bishops Hull Road and Silk Mills Road area. The £358,000 scheme involves upgrading 1.8km of metal pipes to long-lasting plastic pipes, and will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to local homes and businesses. me is The project will require road closures and traffic management, and Somerset Council and Wales & West Utilities are urging local people to attend the drop-in session to find out more. The event has been arranged for 21 May, from 2-7pm at Robin Close, Communal Hall, Bishops Hull, TA1 5EU. Here members of the community can ask any questions about the project and meet the Wales & West Utilities team, as well as those from the Somerset Council Streetworks team. People will be able to find out about the next phase of the work which is due to start on 16 June on the A3065 Silk Mills Road.
