Wales & West Utilities backs Caerphilly Christmas appeals

Posted: 17/12/2025

Wales & West Utilities has donated £5,000 to support two of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s key festive appeals - Operation Santa and the Christmas Foodbank Appeal.

The donation comes as the local community looks ahead to Christmas, and will help ensure those in need receive support during the festive season. The donation will be split between Operation Santa, which provides presents to children nominated by social services who may otherwise go without, and the Christmas Foodbank Appeal, which supports foodbanks and community groups to deliver essential festive food parcels.

The donation goes some way towards saying ‘thank you’ to the local community for its patience whilst engineers recently carried out essential work to upgrade the gas pipes in the Nantgarw Road area. Wales & West Utilities finished the work ahead of schedule, in early November, and worked in close partnership with the Council to ensure minimal disruption to residents and businesses.

Wales & West Utilities’ Tenecia Inniss worked with the Council to support the appeal and said:

“The festive season can be especially challenging for many, and we are happy to support the work of the Council in delivering these appeals to help people across the area.

“The appeals are important and will help share some comfort and joy - whether that’s a gift under a tree or food on the table - for those who need it most in Caerphilly this Christmas."

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said:

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of Wales & West Utilities, which has got behind our wider appeal, which continues to be supported by so many, year on year.

“Their support will make a real difference to families across the borough this Christmas and  Operation Santa, and our Foodbank Appeal will now reach more children and households, and spread much-needed festive goodwill.”
