Minehead five-week gas upgrade project completes on time
Wales & West Utilities has completed its five-week project to upgrade the gas network in the Hopcott Lane area of Minehead, on time.
The work, which began on 1 September, was vital to ensuring gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area, helping to keep people warm for decades to come. The gas emergency and pipeline service liaised with Somerset Council to plan the project, and traffic management was in place throughout.
Wales & West Utilities Steve Pratt managed this gas pipe upgrade work and said:
“We’d like to thank the local community for bearing with us whilst we completed this essential work.
“While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of this community. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
“This work was essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport green gases in the future.”
