Aberaman gas pipe upgrade
Wales & West Utilities is progressing well with its work to upgrade part of the gas network in the Cwmaman Road area of Aberaman.
The project has been ongoing since July, and as part of the final phase, it has been agreed with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council that traffic management will be in place. This includes:
- A road closure on the junction of Cwmaman Road and Woodland Terrace (27 October – 21 November)
- Temporary traffic lights and parking restrictions on Brynmair Road and Jubilee Road (3 – 21 November)
The work is vital to ensuring gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area, helping to keep people warm for decades to come.
Wales & West Utilities Andrew Coleman is managing this work and said:
“We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.
“While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of this community. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
“This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport green gases in the future.”
