Wales & West Utilities gains recognition for one of UK’s Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation™
Posted: 01/10/2026

Wales & West Utilities (WWU) has been recognised in the Great Place To Work® UK (GPTW) list of 2026 UK’s Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation™.

The Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation list is created using anonymous feedback from employees, with over 60 per cent of Wales & West Utilities colleagues participating in the surveys.

Colleagues were asked to comment on how their employer supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.

With around 2,000 employees spanning Wales and south west England, WWU is a major employer with colleagues working hard to deliver energy to over 7.5 million people across the region. The gas emergency and pipeline service transports gas through an extensive underground network of more than 35,000 kilometres of pipes and connects new homes and businesses, whilst working to upgrade the gas network so it’s safe today and ready to transport green gases like hydrogen and biomethane.

Rob Long, Chief Operating Officer at Wales & West Utilities, said:
