St Joseph Primary School takes delivery of new minibus following community fundraiser
The wheels are turning again for Tredegar’s St Joseph Primary School after the delivery of a new minibus, made possible by an overwhelming community fundraising effort following the theft of the school’s previous vehicle earlier this year.
After a hiatus, the new minibus will once again allow pupils to attend educational visits, sporting fixtures, outdoor learning activities and wider community events that play an important role in school life.
The fundraising campaign received widespread support from local residents, businesses and organisations, including a £500 donation from Wales & West Utilities, helping the school reach its target.
John McMorrow, Headteacher at St Joseph Primary School, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have our new minibus delivered and ready for use. The response from the community has been incredible and we are so grateful to everyone who supported our fundraiser.”
Matthew Bishop, First Line Manager at Wales & West Utilities, added:
“We were pleased to support St Joseph Primary School following such a difficult incident. It’s fantastic to see the school back on the road so quickly thanks to the generosity of the local community.”
