Wales & West Utilities will be working over the next two weekends to repair a gas leak on the A470, southbound carriageway, just before the Upper Boat turn off.

The emergency work will take place between 7am and 3.30pm on the 10/11/17/18 October, and will ensure the continued safety and reliability of the gas network for the local community.

Wales & West Utilities has agreed this work with Welsh Government and to keep workers safe, the inside lane of the southbound carriageway will be closed during these times. Motorists are advised to allow sufficient travel time.

Wales & West Utilities Jordan James is managing this work and said:

“This work is important and essential to ensure gas continues to be delivered safely to homes and businesses in the area.

“We recognise the importance of maintaining a safe and reliable gas supply, and we appreciate that carrying out work in locations like this can cause disruption. We would like to thank the local community for their patience while we undertake this work and to assure them that our teams will be working as quickly and safely as possible to complete the work and reopen the road.

“We ask motorists to allow sufficient travel time while these works are in progress.”
