Community spirit shines as Wales & West Utilities supports Cardiff Children’s Appeal
Wales & West Utilities colleagues have, once again, thrown their weight behind Cardiff Council’s annual Christmas present appeal, continuing its tradition of helping vulnerable children and their families across the city.
The gas emergency and pipeline service has backed the initiative for nine years, and this year colleagues from across the business have come together to donate many gifts. With care and thought taken to select gifts, the presents will now be distributed by the Council’s Intervention Hub Family Support Services Team to children and families who might otherwise go without during the festive season.
Employees have embraced the appeal, eager to bring a little joy to families who often face significant challenges. Many of the children supported through the appeal would be unlikely to receive any gifts this Christmas without this assistance.
Nicole Wright, Priority Customer Advisor at Wales & West Utilities, helped coordinate the appeal and said:
“Wales & West Utilities is a long-time supporter of Cardiff Council’s present appeal, and this year is no different.
“We know how valuable this support is to families across the city, and we’re delighted to lend a helping hand. Each year, our colleagues step up, and we hope that even more children will feel the joy a simple gift can bring this Christmas.
“The support services team does incredible work, and we’re proud that our contribution can make even a small difference.”
Susan Davies, Family Support Worker for Cardiff Children’s Services, added:
“I am absolutely thrilled to receive this support for our vulnerable families.
“Wales & West Utilities has been a committed supporter of this appeal for many years, and I see firsthand how much these gifts mean. For many parents, it lifts a huge worry to ensure their children have something special to open on Christmas Day. My heartfelt thanks go to everyone who donated a gift.”
