Wales & West Utilities is to carry out essential work in the Trowbridge Road area of Cardiff.

The work, which will make sure that local homes and businesses continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply to the area for years to come, will start on Wednesday 13 February and is likely to be complete by the end of March.

As part of the essential work, it has been agreed with Cardiff Council that rolling three-way traffic lights will be in place along Trowbridge Road starting from its junction with Greenway Road. Ahead of the scheme Wales & West Utilities has liaised with local residents and Eastern High School, which will have restricted access for cars.

Wales & West Utilities Programme Controller for the area, Francis Kirk, is managing the work and said:

“We know that working on roads like these is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.

“We will be working as safely and as quickly as possible to make sure the work is completed in a timely fashion, while keeping inconvenience to a minimum for road users.”
