A team carrying out essential gas pipe upgrade work in the Rhos on Sea area has completed work on time whilst also receiving over 30 commendation letters from members of the local community.
The work has involved upgrading almost 2 kilometres of old metal gas pipes to new plastic ones and is essential to keep the gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses in the area so that people are safe and warm for generations to come.
The four-strong team has been working in Marlborough Drive and the surrounding area of Rhos on Sea and is delighted at the support from local residents.
Operations Controller Paul Astley managed the work and said:
“We’re delighted to have finished this £247,000 investment and want to thank everyone who lives, works and travels through Rhos on Sea for bearing with us while we did this essential work.
“To receive so many positive letters from the local community is fantastic. Our team have been praised for being polite and courteous, whilst also working hard to keep local people up to date on progress of the work. We really appreciate the support from the local community while we are working.
“Most of the gas network is underground and out of sight but it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across Rhos on Sea and the surrounding areas. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
“This work will not only keep the gas flowing safely and reliably today, it will also help make sure the gas network is fit for the future and can play its part in delivering reliable and affordable green energy.”
