What we’re looking for?

We are looking for an IT Test Manager who will be responsible for delivering IT testing strategies and implementing test plans based upon this strategy across a range of systems. 

You will need to work at all levels of the organisation, experienced with handling multiple project testing requirements and stakeholders concurrently. You will provide advice on testing of complex programmes, including presenting to senior management and wider teams, ensuring policy and strategy in areas of system testing.

We’ll trust you to:

Develop and take ownership of WWU IT Test Strategy.

  • Work alongside IT Team colleagues & business stakeholders to define project test plans.
  • Manage the testing lifecycle for projects ensuring they meet requirements and adhere to the appropriate testing strategy to ensure all test lifecycle phases are completed.
  • Analyse complex IT, business and clinical processes to produce Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Scripts that reflect the working practices of the areas where a system is to be deployed.
  • Establish and maintain communication channels between the business shareholders, testers, developers, and management. All project stakeholders should be kept up-to-date on the status of testing operations & any problems or concerns via regular reports & updates.

You’ll need to have:

  • Awareness of Prince 2 Practitioner or similar Project management methodology.
  • ITIL experience / qualification (helpful for interaction with IT Operations and Acceptance into Service).
  • Significant prior experience in projects as a Test Manager.
  • Considerable IT Testing experience, across multiple diverse and complex projects.
  • Previous utilities experience or experience in a similar regulated environment is desirable.
  • Project implementation expertise.
  • Contractual/Commercial awareness and experience.
