What we’re looking for?

We're looking for an Assistant Systems Engineer on an 18-month fixed term contract to support the safe and efficient operation of the gas transportation network through the ongoing maintenance and support of control room systems.

We’ll trust you to:

Support development for all control room systems. This includes preparing systems to support:

  • System Upgrades
  • Biomethane commissioning
  • Capex workload
  • Network changes i.e. SCC, satellite, mobile…etc
  • NG activities
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI) development
  • Support the Non-Routine Operations (NRO) process for Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) NRO’s affecting Control Room activities
  • Support and facilitate interface meetings with Network Services and E&I
  • Proactively develop your own skills and knowledge relating to all of the key systems supporting Control Centre activities

You’ll need to have:

  • A good knowledge of the day-to-day operation of the gas transportation network
  • To be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • The ability to prioritise own workload
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Due to the enhanced safety critical nature of this role, you will also be required to carry out a National Security Vetting Security Clearance check - this will be carried out by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV). You can find out more details of the process on the Government website here:
