Wales & West Utilities Programme Controller for Wales Francis Kirk said:
“We’re working on the B4263 Abertridwr/St. Cenydd Road in Abertridwr as part of a £200,000 investment in the area to replace old metal gas pipes with new plastic ones. This work is essential to make sure homes and businesses in the area continue to receive a safe and reliable supply of gas now and into the future.
“So we can work safely, this week there are four way traffic lights on the B4263 Abertridwr/St. Cenydd Road at the junctions with Brookside Close and Hendredenny Drive.
“We have worked closely with Caerphilly County Borough Council to minimise inconvenience as much as possible while we do our essential work. Our teams are working as safely and as quickly as they can, and we anticipate that barring any engineering difficulties or adverse weather conditions, the work should be finished on the B4263 Abertridwr/St. Cenydd Road by 12 February.
“We will be returning to the area in the second half of the year to replace pipe on Hendredenny Drive, and we will keep local people updated on our plans.
